Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. I am not giving medical advice. I am a normal woman who has crazy ideas/reads about things and blabs to you about them...hopefully there is a "you" because otherwise it would be quite embarrassing! With that said....here is my next post! WATER!
Now, I want to start by saying that I know what they say on the radio/tv/doctor's office - 8 8 oz. glasses a day of water/liquid is what you need each day. Well, I'm sorry but I don't agree. Do you know what water does? (I'm not talking down to you, just trying to have a clever beginning like they teach us to do in high school! :) ) Water is the mechanism that your body uses to process anything and everything you consume into your body. It carries nutrients throughout your body, stabalizes blood pressure, blood sugar levels, sodium levels, helps your colon absorb nutrients... (do I need to keep going?!) It does A LOT! IF you think about it, your body is 98% WATER!
I joke with my husband all the time that when slober gets on him from our son. I tell him he's has a by product of breastmilk on him. I laugh and laugh while he gives me funny looks but it's true! Every sneeze comes from a form of liquid from veggies, fruits, and a liquid like... WATER, carbonated beverages, tea, coffee, etc. So -- if your diet is not veggie and fruit rich your body is missing out on those liquids, which it needs AND if you are drinking mostly sugar enhanced beverages and not a lot of water think about all of the nutrient transporting/energy you are missing out on!
What's my point....? Well, water is important and each day you should be giving your body as much as you can of it. Now don't go crazy and get drunk off the stuff but hey a measley cup an hour (not 24 hours! just when you are awake and don't sleep too much either) isn't hard to do and it will keep you well hydrated, which helps to prevent:
Nutrient deficiency
chapped lips
headaches
Bladder infection
dry mouth
Pretty much anything.
So, how does this help me lose weight??? Well, the more water I drink the more power I give to my body to absorb healthy nutrients I eat and flush out all of the bad stuff like salt and fat.
Personally, I drink about 12-14 cups of water each day.
I know that it may be hard but take small steps and your body will feel the difference too!
:) Until next time!
